This seminar aims to consider and critique current practice more widely and challenge the true roles of parents and carers across early childhood and whether we need to do more. Policy documents and research are currently confusing for practitioners and they are charged with working with a wide range of parents often without training or further advice. Unconscious bias will be challenged sensitively to support understanding of the importance of really hearing and understanding family stories as a route to developing true balances of power and co production.
