From humble beginnings in a garage in the Midlands, to supplying over 64 countries across the globe, we have been talking to educators and inventing new reasons for children to love learning for over 30 years.
It was a simple scene back in 1985; a chat with a teacher in a local school. The conversation around the lack of quality D&T resources for the classroom. One industrious evening in a garage later and the first TTS resource was born. The very next day the teacher was given the prototype. "Wow," they said, "this is exactly what I said I needed".
From the conversations, the design realisation, the prototype, the consultation, the manufacture, the delivery, the reaction and most importantly the benefit to children's education, our cycle of development hasn't really changed, even if life in a school has.
With your help we have created thousands of reasons to love learning and each year around 400 new resources are invented. From printed books to programmable floor robots, we keep on inventing because you tell us to, and because everyone loves a "wow".

In our family of 37 Award-winning London Nurseries, we are changing the world, one child at a time
Since 1903 LEYF has grown to become an award winning charity and social enterprise, running 37 children’s nurseries across London. Our purpose is unchanged - to nurture the minds and inspire the ambitions of the children in our care. To achieve this purpose we attract and help develop the best staff. At LEYF we aim to promote 50% of our nursery leaders from within so all staff are guaranteed the opportunity of career progression
Early Years Careers Partners at the Nursery World Show
We are so passionate about our approach to childcare that we want to share it with all early years practitioners. That’s why we decided to become the Early Years Careers Partner at the 2018 Nursery World Show.
At LEYF we love sharing our early years philosophy. As Early Years Careers Partner we want to share our philosophy and values with as many practitioners as possible. We can’t bring a LEYF nursery to the show but we can do the next best thing so with the help of our friends at Community Playthings are turning a conference room into a dedicated LEYF children’s nursery. This way practitioners who are interested in working with us can experience the closest thing to a real LEYF nursery. We will be using this ‘nursery’ as a place to interview potential candidates for a range of roles we have available - from apprentices to managers and everything in between.
So if you are looking for a new career opportunity in 2018, please make sure you come and visit us, our nursery team would love to meet you and hear all about your career ambitions.
Our Recruitment Process
We use a range of activities designed to give candidates an opportunity to demonstrate how their knowledge (including an understanding of the current EYFS) and experience will ensure that they are ready to join one of our nursery teams.
Once you have successfully completed an interview at the Nursery World Show we’ll arrange a visit for you to a nursery near you so you can meet the manager, staff team and children.
